Boarding at Silver Dollar Stables
DAILY TURNOUT: Horses are turned out every day, weather permitting, this allows playtime with "buddies" and reduces the chance of boredom related vices from developing (cribbing, weaving, stall kicking)
FEEDINGS: We grain and hay the horses twice a day. Our grain is a quality Southern States feed. Purina Senior feed is also available at an addional fee. Our hay is a timothy/alfalfa mix stored in our barn loft and kept clean and dry for feeding. We are the only people who handle the feedings. We do not hire outside help to care for your horse. We want to be sure each horse is getting the proper feed and supplements.
STALL CLEANING: Our stalls are cleaned each and EVERY day. Bedding is shavings/sawdust. Again, we do not hire people to clean stalls.
WATER: Our water buckets are dumped and filled daily. We provide your horse with CLEAN, FRESH water. We have heated stock tanks in our outdoor pastures and use heated water buckets (provided by boarder) in the stalls during the winter months which reduces the risk of colic.
PARASITE CONTROL: Every 8 weeks rotation ( paid by boarder) or a pelleted daily wormer supplied by boarder. Twice a year the horses are dewormed with Equimax or Zimecterin Gold for tapeworm control.
REGULARLY SCHEDULED: Farrier every 8 weeks. You may use our farrier or one of your choice.
Vaccinations twice a year Spring and Fall.
Dentist is here Spring and Fall to check your horses teeth.
RIDING: We have a 120' x 80' outdoor riding arena and access to miles of very nice trails! Lessons are available to our boarders only for an additional fee. We do not offer lessons to the public.
We want to provide a feeling of security that your horse is in good hands.
